A former COVID-19 isolation centre has been converted into an academic centre for a university college of medicine. The facility, previously known as the CACOVID Centre, is now part of the Lagos State University College of Medicine. This conversion aims to expand training for healthcare professionals and help address the shortage of medical personnel.

The initiative is also a response to the limited capacity for local training and the migration of healthcare workers. Plans are underway to increase the annual healthcare training intake significantly over the next few years.

Further details about this development are available, including the expected increase in student intake and the goals of the project.
