MTN Nigeria has a significant lead in the fibre internet market, with 55.2% of the country's FTTx connections. As of June 2026, the company had 176,468 Fibre-To-The-x subscribers. This represents a 97.3% increase from January, when the company had 89,441 fibre subscribers.
The fibre market is relatively small, with 319,735 FTTx connections in total. In comparison, there were 156.4 million mobile internet subscribers in the same period.
