A significant amount of contraband has been seized by the Federal Operations Unit of the Nigeria Customs Service. The value of the seized items is estimated to be around N3.95 billion. Various types of illicit drugs were intercepted, including tramadol tablets and codeine-based syrup.

Mercury was also among the seized items. The seizures were made during anti-smuggling operations over a period of three months.
