A total of 1,153 mpox cases have been recorded in 11 African countries over a six-week period. The countries with the highest number of cases are Madagascar, Angola, Kenya, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Cameroon.
Madagascar has the highest number of cases with 785 recorded. Angola follows with 184 cases, then Kenya with 94 cases. The Democratic Republic of the Congo and Cameroon have 41 and 28 cases, respectively.
